WebDriven worked with Africa Fighting Malaria to develop a new website. The project included a new web design, logo rework and a content management system.
AFM has a fairly complex taxonomy of categories and content types on the malaria issue. As part of the WebDriven project management process, a new sitemap and taxonomy was developed. One of the themes of the project was to create features that would help AFM staff and site users better utilize the content on the site.
"Must Read" Feature
The new content management system gives AFM's web team the ability to rank certain content items; the higher the weight (ie, 80 vs. 50) the more likely it will show up as a Must Read. There is a "Must Read" column on every category and subcategory page which then displays the Top 5 items based on these rankings. This ranking system gives AFM the ability to call attention to specific content which they consider authoritative independent of when they were created or the kind of content.
WebDriven is currently working with AFM on the development of a Phase Two follow-on project.
