Buzz Box #2: Search Trends - Lindsay Lohan, The Scourge of Diet Soda

This week, Buzz Box watches Google Trends send Harry Potter out of the top 100 while Yahoo's Buzz Index still sees Hogwarts' bespectacled hero in its top 5, but down sharply from his dominant place last week.

WebDriven's Buzz Box: Hot Searches on Yahoo! and Google

Other hot topics are the tragic news helicopter crash today in Phoenix, Arizona and Lindsay Lohan's much -- dare we say over -- publicized arrest for DUI and drug possession. This boosted search interest in her new movie -- ironically entitled "I Know Who Killed Me" by more than 75%.

"Watch out, that stuff'll kill 'ya"
Yahoo searchers also got worked up over research which shows no difference in heart disease risk for diet soda drinkers vs. regular.

About Google Trends
Google Trends aims to provide insights into broad search patterns. Several approximations are used when computing your results. Please keep this in mind when using it. (Source: Google)

About Yahoo Buzz Index
A subject's buzz score is the percentage of Yahoo! users searching for that subject on a given day, multiplied by a constant to make the number easier to read. Weekly leaders are the subjects with the greatest average buzz score for a given week. (Source: Yahoo!)
