The results of the WebWare 100 competition have been released. The WebWare team whittled over 5,000 nominations down to 250. With nearly half-a-million votes cast, here are the categories used to evaluate the best Web 2.0 applications out there.
Categories:
* Audio & Video
* Browsers & extensions
* Chat & Email
* Commerce
* Content & Publishing
* Developer Tools
* Digital Photography
* Mapping
* Media
* Mobile
* Networking
* Productivity & Business
* Search
* Security & Spyware
* Social Network & groups
* Storage
* Utilities & Drivers
* Web Design Tools
* Widgets and desktop enhancements
* Uncategorized
No big surprises really-- Google was selected as a winner in no less than 6 out of the ten categories, with more than one award in two separate categories (two in Mobile, three in Productivity and Commerce) but good to see kudos go out to sites like Pandora and LinkedIn, among others. Have to say though, I was surprised not to see Movable Type selected as a winner in Content & Publishing.
