The economic downturn hasn't left Google entirely unscathed. The Mountain View, California-based search and service conglomerate recently announced the reduction in recruitment staff by 100 positions and some shake-ups on the engineering side.
According to a post on the Google blog:
"...As we made clear during our last quarterly earnings call in October, Google is still hiring but at a reduced rate. Given the state of the economy, we recognized that we needed fewer people focused on hiring..." wrote Laszlo Bock, Vice President, People Operations.
Bock goes on to suggest that some may be re-hired elsewhere within Google.
