Importance of Metadata Reconsidered (ClickZ)

A recent article from online marketing e-zine ClickZ argues that we all need to get on better terms with our metadata.

In his article "I Never Metadata I Didn't Like" (a few style points for clever title), Vin Crosbie makes the case that while the salad days of tag-stuffing search-engine spam may be behind us, well-constructed metadata should not be forgotten -- or relegated only to marketing and e-commerce sites.

Instead, Crosbie suggests that content-rich and information-based sites should carefully consider the use of content-specific tagging that helps aggregators and search engines better classify (and ultimately increase interest and traffic to) their content.
