Pete and our friends at Mashable.com have a great post on 80+ online storage sites today.
Our hard drives are bigger so we can take more photos, create more video and play more music. We all still need a backup plan for peace of mind to consolidate all of the data we create using a secure, automated storage system.
There are several critical factors to consider when making your decision and for some only enterprise-level services make sense. Storing several terabytes of mission critical business data online will not come cheaply and should be researched thoroughly. Backing up my own hard drive may be okay using a free service but it's hard to argue with 5-10 bucks a month for business-class features and conveniences.
We're big fans of Carbonite but as usual there are always new entrants coming into the online storage and backup space.
